Prawn Island
An island connecting the mainland to the eastern beach strip, historically featuring mansions and film studios.
An island from the original Vice City
Prawn Island is on the community’s collaborative map. Rockstar has not confirmed it for GTA VI, but anyone who played 2002’s Vice City will remember it.
In 2002’s Vice City
Prawn Island sat in the bay, between the city’s two large islands. It housed the InterGlobal Films studios, the setting for one of the game’s mission strands, and became one of the most recognizable places on the map.
The real-world reference
Miami has several islands in Biscayne Bay with very different uses, from residential to port. The idea of an island devoted to film ties in with Miami’s role as a set for TV shows and movies in the 1980s, the decade the original Vice City was set in.
What is not confirmed
- That the island returns under this name.
- What it will hold in the modern version.
- Whether it will be accessible from the start or unlocked through the story.
We mark it as speculation until launch.
