Wanning Hills represents the affluent suburban belt situated on the rolling elevations northwest of Vice City. Inspired by inland prestige enclaves such as Coral Gables and western Palm Beach, it features Mediterranean country clubs, manicured golf courses, and neoclassical mansions.

What to Expect from this Location

Interactive Golf Courses: Premier sporting grounds where players can enjoy recreational minigames or observe elite magnates conducting discreet transactions.
Gated Communities: Luxury developments secured by private guardhouses, decorative iron gates, and security cameras.
Winding Hillside Roads: Scenic paved switchbacks bordering landscaped artificial lakes and designer gardens.

Real-World Inspiration

Wanning Hills reflects an authentic facet of South Florida suburban development: wealthy inland enclaves intentionally insulated from beachfront tourism. Places like Coral Gables, founded in the 1920s as a Mediterranean-style planned city, feature canopy-lined avenues, golf estates, and strict privacy codes designed to isolate residents from both urban density and coastal tourist crowds.

Role in the Open World

An open world requires tranquil wealthy neighborhoods just as it needs gritty industrial docks. Historically, the franchise uses these spaces for stark contrast: quiet, heavily patrolled streets where conspicuous criminal behavior draws immediate private security attention. The winding roads also provide unique driving dynamics unavailable on straight grid boulevards.
