Airboats in Leonida’s swamps
The community’s collaborative map places an airboat tour center in the swamps of Grassrivers. The Grassrivers region is official; this specific spot is not.
The real-world reference
Grassrivers is Rockstar’s version of the Everglades, South Florida’s great wetland, known as the “River of Grass” after the book journalist Marjory Stoneman Douglas published in 1947, the same year the national park was created.
Airboats, flat-bottomed boats pushed by a large air propeller, are the Everglades’ signature transport: they glide over very shallow water and vegetation. Alligator-spotting airboat tours are one of the area’s best-known tourist attractions.
What is not confirmed
- That this tour center exists.
- Whether airboats will be drivable at any time.
- What activities there will be in the swamps.
We mark it as speculation until launch.
