Venetian Islands
A chain of artificial residential islands connecting the mainland to the beach.
Residential islands on the bay
The Venetian Islands are on the community’s collaborative map. Rockstar has not confirmed them, but the real-world reference is unmistakable and fits the islands seen in the Vice City bay in the trailers.
The real-world reference
The Venetian Islands are a chain of man-made islands in Biscayne Bay, between downtown Miami and Miami Beach. They were built in the 1920s, during Florida’s real estate boom, and are linked by the Venetian Causeway, a road with drawbridges that is still the quietest connection between the city and the beach.
They are among Miami’s most exclusive residential areas: waterfront mansions, private docks and very little traffic. In 2002’s Vice City, that role belonged to Starfish Island, home of the mansion that ended up as the protagonist’s headquarters.
What is not confirmed
- The name of these islands in GTA VI.
- Whether there will be mansions with interiors or properties to buy.
- How they connect to the rest of the city.
We mark them as speculation until launch.
