Downtown Vice City is the name the community gives to the city’s business center: the skyscraper area visible on the skyline in GTA VI’s trailers. That there is a big urban core is plain to see; its official name and borders are not yet.
The real-world reference: Downtown and Brickell
In Miami, the center is made up of Downtown and Brickell, the financial district, home to one of the largest concentrations of international banks in the country. Its profile of glass towers facing Biscayne Bay is one of the city’s most recognizable images, and it is what the Vice City skyline seems to reproduce.
2002’s Vice City already had a district called Downtown, so the name fits the series’ tradition.
